The Association of British Travel Agents is the UK's Premier Trade Association for Tour Operators and Travel Agents. ABTA has both a regulatory and a trade association role. It maintains Codes of Conduct governing the relationship between Members and also between Members and their clients. ABTA's financial protection schemes are well known to members of the public and the Association maintains a high profile with the media to ensure continued public awareness of ABTA and its role at the forefront of the travel industry. Eighty-eight per cent of the travelling public recognise the ABTA logo.
As the largest UK travel trade association, ABTA has continued to strengthen its role as the voice of the travel industry, and in representing its Members' interests to government at both a national and a European level. With an ever-increasing volume of proposed legislation being imposed on the industry, particularly from Europe, ABTA also maintains a regular flow of information on these topics to Members.

Aussie Specialist

Developed by Tourism Australia and the Australian State Tourist Organisations (STOs), the objective of the Aussie Specialist Programme (ASP) is to help travel agents expand their Australian understanding, and therefore help them to offer the very best service to their customers.
Through ongoing training and support, the Aussie Specialist Program helps members to obtain a comprehensive knowledge of Australia as a tourist destination. As well as being kept informed about everything that is going on Down Under, the program also helps customers to recognise the members as Australian experts who have the knowledge and experience to assist in a whole host of Australian travel needs.
