Always leave a photo copy of your passport, Driving Licence, Credit & Debit cards, Travel Insurance and Mobile number with your parents or somewhere safe.

Always book a couple of nights in a hotel or hostel at your arrival city in Australia , if not being met by friends or relatives.. This is when you are most vulnerable. It lets you acclimatise and have safe storage and commutation in the new city. You will also meet other new arrivals read notice boards, gather free papers etc.
